Ava Britton-Heitz is a standout Senior at Westfield High School. She has always been a highly aspiring student, working extra hours outside of school, joining academic extracurricular clubs specializing in academics, and strengthening her knowledge.
Britton-Heitz ran cross country and track all four years of high school and participated in many other school clubs and activities.
Something that sets Britton-Heitz apart from others her age is her ability to stay positive and still enjoy the little things in stressful times.
One thing mandatory in her day is music, which is an important aspect of her life,
“My favorite part of my day is driving to school because I listen to music and it’s a calming experience and I feel like I get a reset.” Britton Heitz said.
A reset she truly deserves, Britton Heitz is involved in so much, that it’s almost stressful to think about a day in her life. The list includes being the vice president of Dance Marathon, where she leads the finance and sponsorship committee. Next is the president of Mu Alpha-Theta, the math honors society at Westfield. Then, she is on the state level region 2 president of the state leadership team for DECA. Also being in the National Honors Society, on the leadership team for the Taylor Swift Club, and the student leadership team for church, while also maintaining a job at Chiba where she is a hostess. Along with her two sports, Cross Country and Track and Field.
With such a busy schedule, she makes forgetting things impossible. “I’m probably one of the most organized people ever.” She said. “I have Google Calendar, Google Tasks, and I have a planner. I have everything to make sure I’m on top of things, and I'm confident.” This allows her to make time for her friends and family, which is also so important in her life.
Earlier this year she applied early for Duke University. “I applied to college under environmental engineering and that is my dream major.” She said.
When asked for advice for younger students Britton Heitz said, “You need to have a purpose behind whatever you’re doing, my purpose is the people I do it all with, and I wouldn’t want to do any of this if it was just me, so engage with the community, because that’s where you find the best friends.”
