Dear Terra,
I’m sorry.
I don't deserve you.
You’ve done everything for me, given everything to me, and I’ve done nothing for you. I only poison, take, and destroy.
I’ve blown smoke in your face, but you only turn and cough.
I’ve stripped away everything that made you special, but you stayed silent. I’ve burned you, but you were powerless to fight me back.
Only your friends tried to do that, while you stood, helpless to my greedy hands.
But nothing they did could erase the scars I’ve given you.
Things between us seemed so good when it was just me and you. We’d care for each other, just as we should.
But I made new friends, repeated old mistakes, and moved past you.
I forgot you.
I do love you Terra, but not as much as you’ll always love me.
I must leave before I burn you to the ground.
Don't cry for me, your tears are acid on my skin.
Don’t wail for me to come back, you’ll only remind me of one of your dying animals.
Just turn your back
And let things return to the beginning of time,
When I wasn’t even a thought.
My only hope is that you can bloom once more.
