As students and family gathered on October 4 for the annual fall band concert in the high school, excitement sparked through the air.
Members of the band were excited to play the pieces they had worked so hard on in Wind Symphony throughout the first trimester. For students like sophomore Vince Koot, a Wind Symphony timpani player, the band brought him together with new people.
“There is more community and friends to make,” Koot said. “I love being able to perform with my peers.”
Band provides chances for closeness and friendship, as they come together to share their passion for playing and music. Horn player sophomore Leah Rounds agreed.
“It’s given me opportunities I wouldn’t have if I was in a different club,” Rounds said. “Being able to see how much of the hard work we put into the concert pays off,” is Rounds favorite part of the process.
Rounds enjoyed the music choices, such as Siciliano & Rondo, and because of her participation in the band, she had the opportunity to play it. The sense of togetherness and hard work the members all have makes the experience worth it.
“I think the band is one of the best places for performance, and it makes everything we do worth it,” Vince concluded.
